Goodfellow Papers
The Knights of Columbus Council 4924 have been involved for many years
helping the
Windsor Goodfellows with their paper drive. Since 1910 the Gooofellows
have been helping the less fortunate with food boxes at Christmas time.
With over 600 volunteers and a special edition
of the Windsor Star
(120,000 copies donated) the Old Newsboys raised $226,400.00. This
organizition distributed over 5000
boxes of food in 2004 at Christmas time.
Council 4924 with over 100 volunteers stood in the cold, December 1,2 and
3 selling papers in front
of stores and business and
streets corners. With the effort of all these brothers knights and their
families our council raised a amazing $24,429.00. Here are some pictures
of some of our volunteers on December 1, 2 and 3, 2005.

The Goodfellows gave in 2004 over 13,400 boxes of food, along with $20.00
and $35.00 meat
certificates. They also assisted seven school breakfast programs, serving
1020 children. Their food
expenditures for the year
were $427,300.00. They also manage and fund a program to provide shoes and
boots for children from junior kindergarten through grade 8. In 2004 1,134
pairs of shoes and boots were issued at a cost of $52,000.00.
Also the Council was involved on December 3 with the Spirit of Christmas
that is held every
year in our hall. This year they raised over $13,000 that goes
directly to the Goodfellows.
